One of the best ways to make sure you do not have a website from hell is to look at ones that are. There are a lot of roadkill websites out there. And just like slowing down to look at a bad accident, it’s hard to resit looking at painful websites.

Here are just a few that will hurt your eyes, cause a migraine, or invoke an epileptic seizures. You’ve been warned!

This may very well be the worst website in the world! The cheesy, swirling text looks like a toilet flushing, which is a perfect metaphor for this really awful site.

DON”T OPEN THIS SITE – just look at the picture. It will cause your computer to stop and ponder its existence and slow to a crawl while doing it. And it opens pop-ups and plays sleazy music. You can see from the icon that this website was created by former hippies who took too much acid. Another good reason not to do drugs!

Be prepared to have a seizure if you decide to look at this website.

STOP TO PAIN! No one wants a website that causes your PC to turn to stone simply by viewing it.
But if you want more, here are some clever websites that feature bad websites:

Websites from Hell

Website FAIL (A bit dated, but still bad)

Worst Websites of 2011

Winston Churchill once said,

“All men make mistakes, but only wise men learn from their mistakes.”

Be wise and learn from other website mistakes. Don’t have a website from hell.

What are SOPA and PIPA?

SOPA – Stop Online Privacy Act (US House)

PIPA – Protect IP Act (US Senate)

While these proposed laws may sound good, THEY ARE BAD! Why? Quite simply they attempt to increase penalties for online copyright infringement to the criminal level. There are already copyright laws in place that protect content. That’s why you see YouTube videos removed with this message:

The last things we need are more government laws trying to fix nonexistent problems.

SOPA and PIPA Put Justing Bieber’s Mother in Jail!
If SOPA and PIPA were in effect when Justin Bieber’s mother posted videos on YouTube of her then unknown son singing a Chris Brown tune they could have gone to jail! But these videos lead to of the discovery of one of today’s largest pop stars. Even if you are not a Bieber fan, his Internet rages-to-riches story is inspiring.

Why These Proposed Laws Are Bad

Job Killing
Small businesses will be crushed under the added legal liability instead of creating new jobs for American workers.

Add to the Deficit
These laws will be expensive to implement piling on the already bloated US debt

Most pirate website are in other countries where these laws would have no reach

Restrict free speech and innovation

Sponsored by Lobbyist and Big Business

The 1% are using their deep pockets to lobby for these laws just to pad their pockets at our expense.

These are the same groups that opposed VHS recorders, DVD technology, and DRVs!

What can you do?

Contact your congressman. Tell them to vote NO for SOPA and PIPA.
Here’s a website setup to track where the members of congress stand on SOPA and PIPA.

http://www.sopatrack.com/

The big irony is that those congressman who scream against the evils of big government are the main ones backing this law.

Make sure your voice is heard.

STOP SOPA and PIPA and save the Internet!

Here are some online resources that can help you contact your congressman:

For the US House, go to http://www.house.gov and plug in your ZIP code in the top right to find out your district and representative.

For the US Senate, go to http://www.senate.gov and find your state in the top right.

The good news is that Hollywood cannot mess up the plot for a FarmVille movie, because, well, there is no plot. Pron has more of a storyline.

Perhaps the writers are planning to sow an Orwellian “Animal Farm” theme hoping to harvest some meaning from an otherwise meaningless activity. Naaaaw!

Sure making a movie is risky business. In contrast to a new app or a website, movies are a huge upfront investment. So big production companies tend to invest in movies based on popular trends to help assure a return on investment. But could sexy vampires or superheroes save a FarmVille movie? Doubt it!

And since Farmville was only popular for only about three day on Facebook, perhaps the writers will move on to greener pastures sparing us from the agony of FarmVille on the big screen.

However, if a FarmVille movie does crop-up, let’s not be too hasty in predicting its demise. After a decade of American Idol we have learned that you don’t have to be good to win. You just need a following.

So, would you go see a FarmVille movie?

For example:

“There is no doubt.”
—Gen. Tommy Franks on the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, 2003

Remember all those people who told us there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? They’re BACK…just wearing different faces.

Here are a few more bad predictions.

“By the year 1982, the graduated income tax will have practically abolished major differences in wealth.”
—Irwin Edman, professor of Philosophy, Columbia University, 1932

Well Irwin, I guess we proved you wrong. The economy may be bad, but the rich are doing great!

“Hey, we don’t need you. You haven’t got through college yet.”
—Hewlett Packard executives to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, who would go on to co-found Apple, when they tried to interest HP in their first personal computer, 1970s

Wall posts and status updates were lighting up with the announcement that the social network will soon start charging its users due to the latest profile changes.
Here’s how the message looks:

IT IS OFFICIAL. IT WAS EVEN ON THE NEWS. FACEBOOK WILL START CHARGING. DUE TO THE PROFILE CHANGES. IF YOU COPY THIS ON YOUR WALL YOUR ICON WILL TURN BLUE AND FACEBOOK WILL BE FREE FOR YOU. PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON, IF NOT YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED IF YOU DO NOT PAY

If you get this message, ignore it and delete it. There is no curse for erasing it, but if you re-post it you run the risk of looking foolish.

Many scams have claimed Facebook will ask you to pay in one form or another, but they’re all bogus. Facebook reminds its users on the website’s main login page, “It’s free and always will be.”

Facebook makes a lot of money from the ads viewed and clicked by its 800 million active users. In fact, the social networking giant is expected to make $4.27 billion in revenue this year, 89 percent of which will come from advertising.

Here’s how it works.

Install on your PC, Mac, or Linux machine.
Installation is easy and Dropbox works with just about anything that can connect to the Internet.
Setup a Dropbox account by clicking here and following the easy instructions.

After installation, a Dropbox folder appears on your desktop

Dropbox lets you back up, share, and sync any file merely by dragging the file into the Dropbox folder.
It works like any other folder!

Your files are stored both locally in your Dropbox folder and online on the Drobpbox servers.

Any changes made to files in Dropbox are automatically updated in all other linked Dropbox folders in other devices, as long as you are connected (or when you reconnect) to the Internet.

Dropbox pricing is simple and very reasonable

2 GB of storage – FREE!

50GB of storage – $99 a YEAR (or $9.99 a month)

100GB of storage – $199 a YEAR (or $19.99 a month

You can use Dropbox for free for 2GB of storage. It’s simple, inexpensive, and it works. What more could you ask of a cloud application?

Here are some other things you can do with Dropbox.

Go Mobile
Dropbox works with most mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Android, other smartphones), so you can access files on-the-go.

Large Email Attachments
Use the Dropbox Public folder to email links for large files instead of clogging-up e-mailoxes by sending large attachments. Here’s how:

Copy the file to your Dropbox Public folder
If you don’t have a Public folder go to the Dropbox main directory create a new folder and name it Public (Upper “P”)

Right-click any file in your public folder and go to Dropbox > Copy public link.

Paste this link in your email. The email sends the link and not the file. Your email recipient clicks on the link to download the file.

Un-Delete
Dropbox has an undelete feature to recover accidentally delete files/folders in Dropbox. Here’s how it works:

Log-on the Dropbox website using your username and password

Click on “Show deleted files”

Deleted folders and files will be displayed in gray text

Put mouse over deleted folder/file, click arrow to the right, and follow the prompts to undelete (restore)

To undelete several files/folders, check the box for all files/folders to undelete, click “More” in menu at top of page, and select Undelete.

Dropbox keeps deleted files for 30 days.

Other cool things about Dropbox

Everything in your Dropbox folder is backed-up

All your Dropbox files can be accessed from the Dropbox website using your login username and password.

Checkout the following mobile apps that can be used with Dropbox:
http://www.dropbox.com/apps/list?platform=4

Check-out the following video explaining Drobpox.

So if a crazy preacher who has failed two times (a least) to predict the end of the world can go viral, then so can you.

When your video goes viral you are on your way to the top. Just ask Justin Bieber. He was just a kid with a decent voice until his YouTube video when “crazy” viral. The next thing you know he’s selling millions of records and performing with Usher.

So here it is – the elements of a surefire successful video:

A cute puppy

Bubbles

An adorable laughing baby (of course)

Put these three things in your video and you are then next big thing…until the next big thing comes out making you the last big thing. LOL

If you need further proof check out this video with over a million views and featured on network and cable news. So cute!

WikiBombs
While Wikipedia does a good job of cleaning up bad information, WikiBombs takes screenshots of funny entries before it gets taken down.
Here’s one of my favorites that actually appeared on Wikipedia.

http://wikibombs.com/2011/03/30/a-genre-is-born/slasherfilmwikibomb/

Ray William Johnson (RWJ)
Who has time to review the millions of videos on YouTube? Ray William Johnson does on his YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/RayWilliamJohnson. But what gets Ray millions of views a week is his comic styling. He posts two shows a week he calls “equals three” (=3) where he jabs at the three viral videos. LMAO

If You Watch It Backwards
This website describes popular movies if watched in reverse. The reverse version is usually more interesting than the real thing.
http://ifyouwatchitbackwards.com/

What’s your favorite way to kill some online time?
